For comparison, he also examined what would happen if a comprehensive climate policy was initiated. Smith found that the global climate policy scenario reduced average world temperatures by 0.27 degrees Celsius by 2050, which is significantly more than would be accomplished by limiting short-lived soot and methane emissions alone.
