All because I had been polite, not screamed at them (they had been cursed at most of the morning apparently), and had given them fresh cookies. The power of baking is not to be understated! That night, I made a 2nd batch as a thank you, and for the next 6 months, the foreman would send me an email telling me when they would be in the the area and what roads they were working on so I could zip around town and miss all the traffic jams. Cookies, they are magic!
